Decadent Galettes at La Boutique de Joel Robuchon

When in the early onset of Spring, dine alfresco amidst a city garden, eat a French galette or two, drink bitter hot espresso, people-watch (or people-judge) and wind down with a glass of Riesling to end the busy week.

La Boutique de Joel Robuchon in Tokyo’s upscale Marunouchi Brick Square is where we would like to be now, tucking into bites of its Périgourdine (¥1,600) galette, a savoury combination of crispy buckwheat crepe, pan-seared foie gras, beetroot and truffles drizzled with an acidic balsamic reduction. Light and delicious!

The patisserie, boulangerie and cafe, a casual outpost of Joel Robuchon’s eponymous haute cuisine restaurants, tends to get crowded with young families during the weekend.
